The results of phototherapy can vary depending on the specific condition being treated. For skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema, phototherapy can help reduce inflammation, itching, and improve the appearance of the skin.

There is usually no recovery process associated with phototherapy. It is a non-invasive treatment that does not require any downtime or specific post-treatment care. However, since the light box mimics sunlight, you’ll have to protect your skin using sunscreen in the days and weeks surrounding treatment to ensure you do not get overexposed to UV light.

During phototherapy, the individual sits or stands in front of a light box for a specified duration, typically for a few minutes. The light emitted is a narrow band of wavelengths found in the ultraviolet spectrum, proven safe and effective. The settings on the light box are customizable so that we can deliver the light intensity necessary for optimal results. You’ll be given eye protection to wear during the treatment process, and you can relax throughout the treatment.
